PROFESSIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
In an Oct. 22 ceremony at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles, Gerald Haslam, (Emeritus, English), was presented with the Delbert and Edith Wylder Award “for Exceptional Service” to the Western Literature Association. In1999, he had been given the same group's Lifetime Achievement Award for his literary efforts. Heyday Books (Box 9145, Berkeley, CA 94709) has just released his twenty-seventh book Haslam's Valley, a fifty-year retrospective of his fiction and non-fiction. He also published a new short story, “Two-Headed Man Hangs Self,” in Chiron Review (Autumn, 2005).
