Terry Wright, Geology (Emeritus), was interviewed by Nature magazine and the interview incorporated in an article published Dec. 27 in Nature called "the grapes of rock". The subject was geologists who are working with the wine industry to improve wine quality. He will lead a field trip for an international conference "Terroirs 2006" at UC Davis sponsored by the Mondavi center for food and wine science on march 23. He is on the steering committee for this conference. The field trip will be on "Terroirs of Sonoma County, Geology and wine quality" more information on www.terroirs.ucdavis.edu.

Jean Wasp, Media Relations Coordinator, has been named to the KRCB Board of Directors. KRCB is the local public broadcasting radio and television station located in Rohnert Park and serving the SF Bay Area.

Matthew Lopez-Phillips, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs, serves on the Board of Directors of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs.

Terilynn Bench, Employee Relations/ADA Coordinator, serves on the Board of Directors for Scouting for All (founded and headquarters based in Petaluma), as the National Religious and Atheist Outreach Coordinator. She is also a former Board member and current volunteer for the Sonoma County Mayors' Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities.
