Theresa Alfaro-Velcamp, History, wrote an article appearing in the February 2006 Hispanic American Historical Review, a leading Latin American history journal. The article entitled, “Immigrant Positioning in Twentieth-Century Mexico: Middle Easterners, Foreign Citizens, and Multiculturalism,” addresses some of the key theoretical ideas in her forthcoming book manuscript to be published by the University of Texas Press in 2007.

Kathy Charmaz, Sociology, has a new book entitled “Constructing Grounded Theory: A Practical Guide through Qualitative Analysis” just published by Sage, London. She also has an article appearing in the International Journal of Qualitative
Studies on Health and Well-Being
and taught an intensive seminar on qualitative analysis over winter break at the University of Vienna.

Shawn Kilat, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, is currently serving on the Rohnert Park Planning Commission.
