SSU Staffers Give Back to Community

Volunteer Profiles
ERIC EISENHART, DUSTIN MOLLO, SUSAN BAUR - Eisenhart, Mollo, Baur and others have started the Sonoma County Systems Administrators group. Eisenhart is the primary founder and president of the group, Baur is the secretary/treasurer and Mollo serves on the Board.
SHARON MARSHALL - Marshall is a “puppy petter” for the Assistance Dog Institute in Santa Rosa, which was founded by Bonnie Bergin, an Distinguished Alumna of SSU. She is also treasurer for Holy Family Episcopal Church.
PAM VAN HALSEMA - Van Halsema is on the Board of Elders at Covenant Presbyterian Fellowship, and works one day a week in her daughter's classroom at Santa Rosa Charter School to help teach math through cooking projects.
SUE FOLEY - Foley is currently serving on the SSU Alumni Board and is the Chair of the Events Committee.
JANET HARDCASTLE - Hardcastle is volunteering in a Rohnert Park third grade public elementary school classroom assisting in the reading program.
KAREN FISCHER - Fischer is a volunteer for the Clear Lake Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
LAURIE MATTINSON - Mattinson is a member and volunteer for the Stone Creek Zen Center in Sebastopol. Her volunteer duties include bookkeeping, and she is also a member of the Finance Committee, which is an advisory board to the Board of Directors.
CINDY MILLER - Miller is on the Board for the 4-H Community Club Council as well as serving on the Board of the 4-H Foundation of Sonoma County Director.
CATHI CARI-SHUDDE - In her ninth year volunteering at her daughter's school, Santa Rosa Charter School, Cari-Shudde participates in a variety of roles. This year, she facilitates meetings twice a month for the school community; is a board member focused on raising and allocating funds. Also a classroom parent, organizes parents to support the faculty and students in curriculum activities. Previously, as chair of a diversity committee, creating curriculum for the K-8 school, helped with large fundraisers, organized parade entries, taught classes in art, California history and reading. In addition she has helped students make quilts and other sewing projects.
NELS WORDEN - Worden is currently active with the Community Clean Water Institute as a technical adviser. He was also recently nominated to the Board of Directors. He also serves as Assistant Quartermaster to Boy Scout Troop 32 of Santa Rosa.
