and Staff Cinco de Mayo Celebration
The Sonoma State University Cinco de Mayo Scholarship Fund is holding its 15th annual dinner dance fundraiser from 6:30-11 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at the Sebastopol Community Center, 390 Morris Street off Highway 12. The tax-deductible $25 ticket purchases a buffet dinner catered by Taquería El Coronel and an opportunity to dance to the Big-Band salsa sounds of Los Ritmicos. Each year, two Latino immigrant students (or child of immigrants) at SSU receive $1,000 and two youth organization receive $500 donations. David Stokes Leads Brown Bag on Biodiversity
David Stokes, Environmental Studies and Planning professor, presents his work on "Biodiversity Planning and Sustainable Landscapes" from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11 in the Social Science Conference Room, Stevenson 2011. The campus community is invited to attend.
BFA Exhibition on View Through April 23
The BFA Exhibition 2006 is currently on display at the University Art Gallery through Sunday, April 23. BFA Exhibition 2006 features the work of students in the Art Department who are graduating this spring with their Bachelor of Fine Arts, an advanced degree requiring an additional year of focused study in their chosen medium. This year's exhibition features the work of Michele Bottaro (painting), Emily Martin (printmaking), Portia Sanborn (photography), Matt Slocum (sculpture), Roxanne Urry (large ceramic sculpture), and Jesse Weiss (drawing and printmaking.) The Gallery is open Tuesday - Friday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and weekends, noon to 4 p.m. For more information, phone 4-2295.
