Stevenson Stairwell Closed for Painting

This Saturday, Oct. 14, Facilities Services will be painting the west stairwell in Stevenson. This stairwell will be closed to Stevenson traffic, but the two central stairwells will be open as will the outside stairs on the east end of Stevenson. This stairwell will be open by Sunday morning. This will not affect use of the elevator. Questions may be directed to 4-2124.

Open Enrollment Period Ends Oct. 13

The open enrollment period for faculty and staff extends through today, Oct. 13. All enrollment and changes to enrollment become effective Jan. 1, 2007. Members may use this open enrollment period to enroll and cancel enrollment in health, dental or flex cash plans. Members may change plans and add eligible family members to employee health, dental and vision plans. Annual Health Plan Statements were mailed to all members in August, and open enrollment materials may be ordered by using the pre-paid postcard sent from CalPERS. Members may also access the materials online or by contacting the CalPERS customer contact center at (888) 225-7377. In 2007, there will be several changes in benefits: Delta Dental will implement an additional benefit for pregnant women. Vision Service Professionals, Inc. has been awarded the new three-year contract for the vision benefit.

Workshop for Internal Funding Opportunities

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs announces a workshop on internal funding opportunities for faculty Wednesday, Oct. 18, from noon to 1 p.m., in Stevenson 2006. Christine Renaudin, chair of the Faculty Subcommittee on Sponsored Programs, and ORSP Director Joshua Schultz will present an overview of internal funding opportunities for faculty including RSCAP Mini-Grants, RSCAP Summer Fellowships and Faculty Travel Awards.
