Deadline to Register for Expanding Your Horizons
The deadline to register for the annual Expanding Your Horizons Conference to be held at Santa Rosa Junior College on March 24 at the reduced rate of $16 is Feb. 24. After Feb. 24, the cost is $20 until the registration deadline March 10. The cost includes lunch, and scholarships are available. The conference is especially for 7th and 8th grade girls to encourage them to take more math and science courses in order to broaden their educational and career choices.
The keynote speaker is Windsor vice-mayor and environmentalist Debora Fudge followed by hands-on workshops lead by women professionals who use math and science in their careers. Register online or phone 4-2241 for more information or cabaniss@sonoma.edu.
Open House for New Offices of CEC
The Office of Conferences, Events & Catering is now relocated to the Viognier building and plans an open house for the campus community from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 14. Viognier is located at northeast corner of the Residential Community, between the Children's School and the ETC. Follow the link on the CEC website to a map showing thr location. Tim Hensel and Christine Hayes of the University Library offer a training session on "Introduction to Photoshop Elements" from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14 in Schulz 1125. This workshop covers the basics of Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 as a tool for editing images and making images that are ready for the web or print.
