"Challenging Inequities" Conference Explores Paths to Social Justice in Global Education

Students, teachers, community members, and university faculty are invited to attend "Challenging Inequities: Traveling Paths of Social Justice in Global Education," from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 in the Commons. The event is a Northern California National Association for Multicultural Education conference designed to explore and challenge inequities in education, as well as to envision new possibilities for the future. In a series of panel presentations, workshops, and plenary sessions, participants will work on ideas for bringing true critical multicultural dialogue to life in their schools and communities.

Early bird registration is $10 for the general public and free for students. Send a check made out to N.A.M.E. to: Virginia Lea, School of Education, Sonoma State University, 1801 E. Faculty Travel Award RFP Released, Due March 13

The Faculty Subcommittee on Sponsored Programs announces the Request for Proposals for 2006/07 Faculty Travel Awards. Applications are due in the ORSP Office in Nichols 146 no later than Tuesday, March 13 by 4:30 p.m. Only travel that takes place between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007 is eligible for funding. Total funding available this year is estimated at $10,000, and it is anticipated that individual awards will be approximately $200-$400. The RFP and Application Form are available in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs or online at the ORSP Web site.
