New Staffers Take the Reins in Academic Affairs
Dear faculty, administrators, students, and staff,
Welcome back for the 2007-2008 academic year! As this semester
has now begun, it gives me great pleasure to introduce to
you the following new staff personnel in Faculty Affairs:
Carol
A. Blackshire-Belay, Ph.D., Vice Provost for Academic Affairs
Donna
Arnold is
the Assistant to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and started in July
2007. Previously, Arnold was employed at the California Institute on Human
Services as a Project Coordinator for over four years. She graduated from
Sonoma State University in May 2002 with a degree in Business Administration
with a concentration in finance. Donna lives in Rohnert Park with her husband
Jim. She enjoys traveling, especially cruising, going to movies, reading
and gardening.
Dave Henderson joined Faculty Affairs as our Information Systems Analyst
on June 18, 2007 after a long and successful career as an analyst in Global
Information Systems with Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies. Henderson's
family moved from their native Britain in the fall of 2000 to permanently
relocate in Sonoma County and have previously lived in England, Scotland,
and Germany. He has a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Information Systems
from Huddersfield University in England and for the last three years has
brought his British soccer knowledge to the youth soccer coaching scene in
northeast Santa Rosa where his family resides.
Evelyn Marten recently joined Faculty Affairs after a 15-year career with
State Farm Insurance Companies where she was an Administrative Assistant
and Word Processing Technician. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English
from East Bay University and was employed as a library technician at Stanford
University. She and her husband have two grown children and grandchildren
and live in Rohnert Park.
Rosanna Piña replaced Cindy Piccinini as the new Administrative Assistant and
Receptionist for Faculty Affairs in the Office of the Provost as of May 31, 2007.
Rosanna came to us from the California Institute on Human Services where she
had been employed since 2004 as a Project Assistant. Rosanna enjoys gardening
and spending as much time possible with her new granddaughter, Lauren Luna (Moon
Child) Piña, and her two grandsons, Aidan and Avery Morgan.
Sally
Sacchetto joined Sonoma State University in Academic Affairs
as the new Director of Faculty Personnel in July 2007. Sacchetto comes
to SSU with an extensive career in human resources and education serving
most recently as the Director of Career Services at the California
Culinary Academy located in San Francisco. Previous to this, she served
as Director of Educational Services, Associate Dean and Director of
Human Resources at the Academy. Sacchetto received her Bachelors degree
in Communications from Oregon State University. She serves on the Academic
Advisory Board at the California Culinary Academy and also on the Board of
Directors for Novato Babe Ruth. She lives in Novato and has a son Marco,
