Bramble spends his work life in IT providing traffic
analysis for the campus network. But in his free time he
has another vocation - writing and performing "danceable
inspirational improvisational psychedelic folk-rock." He
and his band will be appearing from 7-10 p.m. at Ace in
the Hole Cider Pub on the corner of Graton Road and Highway
116 this Saturday, Nov. 3. All ages encouraged, no cover.
Free Shows and Concerts in November
The following are free shows and concerts offered by the Center for Performing Arts during the month of November.
On Thursday, Nov. 8, the 5th Annual High School Choral Festival takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Ives Concert Hall. This yearly event attracts young choral singers and groups from Marin and Sonoma Counties. Music clinicians Sanford Dole and Robert Worth will be on hand to listen, comment and encourage. Drop in to see what these young singers can do.
On Friday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m., the Sonoma State University Chamber Brass and Percussion Ensembles, under the direction of Doug Morton and Jennifer Wilsey, will perform varied chamber combinations of brass and percussion. The concert is in the Ives Concert Hall (Rm 119) on Campus.
On Thursday, Nov. 29 at noon, the Indian Singing Ensemble presents a "Having A Good Time Singing Concert " featuring North Indian Vocal Music. Director Laxmi G. Tewari leads this spirited concert in the Ives Concert Hall.
On Thursday and Friday, Nov. 29 and 30 at 8 p.m., the Music Theatre Scenes Workshop, directed by Lynne Morrow, presents Broadway Forbid!, a potpourri of songs from the rich canon of American Musical Theatre. This original revue, written by the students, takes place in the Ives Concert Hall (Rm 119).
November ends on a jazzy note as Bob Afifi leads his Student Latin Jazz Ensemble in a concert of contemporary and classic Latin jazz from Cuba, South American, the United States and Europe. The concert is on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Warren Auditorium, in Ives Hall.
