Take the Housing Survey Until May 16
Almost a decade ago, soon after the formation of the Faculty and Staff Housing Committee, a survey was sent out to the campus community to find out employee housing needs and preferences.
Times have changed, employees have come and gone, and there is concern that the information is out of date. The campus community is now asked to help by completing the confidential on-line survey.
The survey should not take more than ten minutes and will be available until Friday, May 16. For more information, contact Carol Ingerman at carol.ingerman@sonoma.edu or by phone, 4-2893.
Rent Your Regalia
Faculty and staff who still need to rent regalia for this year's Commencement ceremonies, need to do so soon. The deadline to avoid additional shipping fees is May 12. Place an order by phone, e-mail or in person at the bookstore. Contact Amanda at 4-2502 or merchandise.manager@sonoma.edu.
Running for a Cause: Raising Money for the Filipino
American National Historical Society
Karen
Pennrich of Customer Services is walking and running in the 10k (6.2 miles)
Human Race on Saturday, May 10 to raise funds for FANHS, the Filipino American
National Historical Society of Sonoma County. She is asking campus colleagues
to sponsor her if they want to show support. Donations are tax deductible
and any amount is appreciated. To make a pledge, make checks payable to
FANHS or the Filipino American National Historical Society and deliver
them to Karen Pennrich, or visit the Human
Race Web site and click on FANHS, then Pennrich's personal web page,
to help.
The group is raising money to complete the documentary "Remembering our Manongs" to honor their culture's parents, grandparents and elders who settled in this area, and to be able to document and preserve their story for future generations. Donations are still needed to finish the project.
SSU staffers who are planning to run in the Human Race for a special cause are welcome to submit their stories to NewsBytes.
