Looking for prison lecturers

"As some of you might know I lead a monthly group for lifers at San Quentin. For the last few years faculty members from SSU have generously offered their time to give a lecture in their own area of expertise. I am writing to invite you to speak at SQ sometime this academic year. The meetings are on the last Friday of the month from 1-3 p.m. Usually we leave campus about noon and return about 4 p.m. If you are interested in having this remarkable experience, one that you will remember for a lifetime, please let me know. I am lining up the roster for next year at this time. It is a one-time presentation, so you are able to give your most interesting and dynamic materials to a very intelligent and receptive audience. I hope you decide to join me once this year."

Sincerely,
Elaine Leeder, Dean of the School of Social Sciences
Professor of Sociology

With deep appreciation

To Campus Community:
It is with deep appreciation that we thank you for your hard work and support of the Orientation Program. We successfully oriented more than 1,500 first-time freshmen and more than 400 transfer students and could not have done it without the collaborative effort of the entire University. Your contributions did not go unnoticed. We look forward to continuing these essential partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,
— Jacqueline Holley, Coordinator for New Student Orientation and
Family Programs
— Wanda Boda, Professor, Department of Kinesiology
— Matthew Lopez-Phillips, Interim Vice President for Student Affairs
and Enrollment Management
