RTP Workshop for Newer Faculty
An RTP workshop for newer faculty is set for Friday, Sept.12, noon-2 p.m., in the Terrace Room, University Commons. Representatives from Academic Affairs, the University RTP Committee and the California Faculty Association will speak about the RTP policies and procedures at SSU, some of which are new. This workshop explores service-learning pedagogy and current trends in academic learning, planning, community relationship building and reflective analysis activities. Sept. 8, noon-1 p.m., Schulz 2019 - YouTube: Educational Opportunity in an Accretion of Amateurism - This session gives a brief overview of YouTube facts, before examining the educational possibilities (and pitfalls) of YouTube. Bruce Carpe will demonstrate SSU's new YouTube channel and discuss goals for its use.
Sept. 9, 12-1 p.m. and 1-2 p.m., Schulz 2019 - Planning Successful Multimedia Course Projects. Presenters will advise and discuss ways in which faculty members can work with existing university services to most effectively implement multimedia assignments. Of relevance will be projects in scale from small to large.
