Herbert Fougner

Herbert Fougner, professor emeritus of education, passed away Wed., Oct. 8. He was 91.
Born in Minnesota, Fougner studied school administration and obtained his doctorate at UCLA. He was a founding professor of the education department at SSU, where he worked from 1956 to 1986.

After retiring, Fougner traveled the world but also enjoyed the comforts of Cotati, where he lived for more than forty years.
Fougner had four children, all of whom attended Sonoma State.
