Town Hall Meeting on the University Strategic Plan


Eduardo OchoaThe next town tall meeting (formerly known as Campus Forums) on the University Strategic Plan (USP) will have members of the University Planning Steering Committee (UPSC) on hand to provide some background on the USP and review its highlights, as well as take questions and feedback about the plan from the audience. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend. The USP is available on SSU's home page or at http://www.sonoma.edu/uaffairs/strategicplan/. After the town hall, the UPSC will meet to review the campus feedback and consider if any final revisions of the USP are necessary, before referring to the Academic Senate and recommending it to the President.

Request for Catastrophic Leave Donations


The Payroll and Benefits Office received a request from a University employee, Deanna Wilson, who has been determined eligible to receive donated vacation leave
credits due to a recent catastrophic illness/injury of an immediate family member. If you wish to donate, please navigate to http://www.sonoma.edu:80/payroll/leaves/catleavereqs.html. The form should be printed, signed, and returned to Payroll and Benefits in Salazar Hall 2079.

Facilities Management Promoting Energy-Use Awareness


Energy BrochureFacilities Management is beginning to spread awareness related to energy use and promoting what each person can do to make an impact. “This effort will ramp up significantly next semester and I will bring in significant student involvement,” said Craig Dawson, Director of Energy and Environmental Health and Safety.
As part of the first step, tri-fold pamphlets (left) will be distributed to on-campus residences. The pamphlets, titled, "Start conserving water and energy today! We need your help!" provide student residents with conservation facts, tips and relevant websites. Guest Access to Wireless Network Changing in January

On Mon., Jan. 5, guest access to the wireless network will change to accommodate new security standards. This does not affect employees or students, who may continue to use their Seawolf ID to access the wireless network. Guests to campus may secure a temporary (one week) account by visiting the IT Helpdesk during business hours (Mon.-Thurs., 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Fri., 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.). Guests need to show a valid state identification card or passport, and will be asked for an email address or a phone number. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 4-4357 or email at helpdesk@sonoma.edu.

Don’t forget to join the Dean of Social Sciences, Elaine Leeder, for “Donuts with the Dean” on Thurs., Dec. 4, from 10-11:00 a.m. in Stevenson 2054. “Donuts with the Dean” is a regular activity, where faculty, staff and students are invited to an hour with the dean, to come visit or just grab a donut.
