Critical Thinking Pedagogy Workshop

Critical ThinkingCan't stand one more "research paper" without an argument, written without engagement, and full of citations from Wikipedia—or worse? The Critical Thinking Pedagogy Workshop provides strategies for incorporating critical thinking, writing, and information competence into "low-stakes" ways that can lead into more "high- stakes" assignments. This hands-on workshop will look at these fundamental literacy abilities together, not in isolation, and participants will leave with useable assignment ideas that can easily be modified to specific disciplines. The workshop is Fri., Dec. 12 from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. in the Terrace Room of the Commons. Presenters include Erin Daniels (library), Scott Miller (Writing Center) and John Sullins (philosophy). Please RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/2w67uk. Lunch to be provided for those registered.
