Fall 2007 WebCT Courses Offline Dec. 30

WebCT LogoFall 2007 WebCT courses will be taken offline on Dec. 30, 2008. These courses will be backed up on disk and archived in the Web Office. "They can only be recovered through considerable time and effort by IT staff," says Martha Ezell, media specialist. "If you would like to retain a copy of your Fall 2007 content on the WebCT server, please request a development course be created where the content can be migrated and saved." To request a development course, email martha.ezell@sonoma.edu with one's username and the name of the desired course to be created.

Chronicle Now Accessible Via SSU Barcode and PIN

The University Library now has a site license for the Chronicle of Higher Education (http://0-chronicle.com.iii.sonoma.edu/) accessible on campus or at home with an SSU Library barcode and PIN. "Check it out for the latest information about trends, jobs, legislation, and gossip in higher education," says Barbara Butler, dean of the University Library. "Set up individual email alerts for the stories in which you are most interested or check out the Arts and Letters Daily where you can always find an interesting read." For those without a Library barcode, visit the Schulz Information Center for assistance.

December Paychecks Distribution

Pay CheckThe December payday is Dec. 31 and paychecks will be released beginning at 9 a.m. on Wed., Dec. 31. Employees are cautioned not to take them to their banks until after 3 p.m. The posting date for direct deposit checks is Jan. 2, 2009. Since the campus is closed for the holidays on payday, paychecks are available for pick up after 9 a.m. from Dec. 31, 2008 through Jan 2, 2009, at Police Services. A Photo ID is required to pick up your paycheck. Checks not picked up at Police Services will be distributed in each department, by the warrant pick up clerk, after 9 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2009.
