William Babula Shakespeare Paper Accepted

A paper by William Babula, English, "Shakespeare and his Actors: An Essay on Clowns, Fools, Tragedians, and Women, And the Men and Boys Who Played Them," originally presented August 2008 at the Wooden O Symposium, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Cedar City, has been accepted for publication in the 2008 Journal of the Wooden O Symposium.

 

Brett Christie Speaks on Educating Students with Disabilities

Photo of Brett ChristieBrett Christie, CTPD/Education, was an invited speaker at the Humboldt State University, 2nd Annual Professional Development Day on Diversity, January 16, 2009. Brett and a student panel presented
"Improved Advising and Education of Students with Disabilities: Shifting from Accommodation to Accessibility." This session focused on ways higher education can shift from a reactive, accommodations-based model to a more proactive, accessibility-based model. Examples and benefits of an accessible curriculum were given, with multiple discipline examples. In addition, a panel of students with disabilities shared ways in which faculty can easily enable their success through the removal of inadvertent pedagogical barriers. In addition, discussion revolved around how the removal of these barriers benefits all learners.
