Roberts Opens Ceramics Exhibit at Tahoe Gallery

Gregory Roberts, art, opened a ceramics exhibit titled "Suck on This"  on Jan. 22 at the Tahoe Gallery in Incline Village, NV.

"Suck on This" is an invigorating look into Roberts' most recent ceramic work that ranges from honeycomb-textured teapots to politically-charged newspaper images with metallic surface treatments. The work is a visually stimulating combination of the traditional practice of hand-thrown porcelain with more contemporary treatments of the surfaces.

Works like "People at Podiums," "Hunt  for Red October," and "Baby Bottle Bombs," clearly have political overtones.  At first glance, the pieces resemble ever-popular plastic water bottles. Upon closer look, the surface images reveal  political figures.

The exhibit is open until Feb. 20.
