Winter Intersession a Success, According to Report

The School of Extended Education has released the 2009 Winter Intersession Enrollment Report, available at www.sonoma.edu/exed/

"It should not surprise any of us that both enrollment and student credit units (SCU's) taken by SSU students are up," says Mark Merickel, Dean of the School of Extended Education. He also notes that juniors and seniors account for most of the enrollment. Says Dean Merickel, "It does appear that Intersession is playing an increasing role in providing the classes needed by SSU students to meet their graduation requirements, timelines, and goals."

January Intersession surpassed the enrollment goal of 950 students, with a total of 957 enrolled and 3,251 SCU's taken.

North Bay Economic Outlook Conference

The future of the North Bay's financial industry is the topic of the 2009 North Bay Economic Outlook Conference sponsored by SSU’s School of Business and Economics from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Feb. 6 at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaluma.

The program includes a discussion of North Bay economic trends by Robert Eyler, Economics Department Chair and Director of the Center for Regional Economic Analysis, and Brian Sobel, President, Sobel Communications. Noreen Evans, California State Assemblymember, will deliver the keynote address.

Panel speakers include: Kimberly Kaselionis, President & CEO, Circle Bank; Peter O'Brien, Leasing & Investments Agent, Orion Partners; Vic Motto, CEO, Global Wine Partners (US), LLC; Brian Kelly, President & CEO, Charter Oak Bank and Brian Pretti, CFA, Senior Vice President, Mechanics Bank.
