Women Student Leaders Nominations Due Tuesday
The Center for Student Leadership, Involvement and Service (CSLIS) is now accepting nominations from faculty, staff and students for the thirteenth Annual Woman Student Leader of the Year Award. Nominations are due Tues., Feb. 17.
This annual award, given during National Women's History Month, recognizes women students who have performed outstanding paid or volunteer campus service in clubs and organizations, student government, mentor and leadership positions, academic departments and elsewhere. A nomination for this award demonstrates the admiration and respect the student has gained through their service to our campus. Nominees must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, as reflected on their fall 2008 transcripts. Past years' nominees, except for the top award winner, are eligible again this year. Nominees will be sent an application that must be returned by Mon., March 2. Applications will be reviewed and a winner chosen by a committee of SSU faculty and staff.
Send nominations to Heather Howard at heather.howard@sonoma.edu. Include:
• The nominee's name
• Contact information (home and/or work phone numbers AND e-mail address)
• A brief statement about the nominee's noteworthy achievements
• Your name, campus phone number, and department or organization.
A gala reception to honor all the applicants and their mentors is Mon., March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Cooperage. For more information, please contact CSLIS at 4-4323.
