Joe Tenn Retires After 39 Years at SSU, Scholarship Established in His Name
Joe Tenn, longtime professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, retires at the end of this semester. Tenn has served for nearly 30 years as Department Adviser and for three as Department Chair.
In 1971, he founded the very popular "What Physicists Do" public lecture series, which includes lectures, demonstrations and films about physics in the "real world."
In his honor, a scholarship fund for new and returning physics majors was founded by his relatives and other contributors. The Joe S. Tenn Scholarship will continue to support students of SSU. To find out more about the scholarship or to make a contribution, contact Kristin Berger at kristin.berger@sonoma.edu or 4-3203.
