SSU Nursing Program Receives $250,000 in Kaiser Permanente Grant
Kaiser Permanente recently announced more than $11 million in grants, including $250,000 to the Sonoma State Nursing Program.
The grants were
awarded to organizations that are working to address higher education among registered nurses, and the money goes toward expanding nursing education projects beyond the associate degree level.
Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Walk at Mountain Mike's Pizza
On Wed., Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., 15% of all sales at Mountain Mike's Pizza will go to four SSU employees participating in a 3-day walk for breast cancer. Mo Phillips (Residential Life), Cyndie Morozumi (Residential Life), Julie Greathouse (Student Academic Services), and Stacey Murray (Residential Life) are walking in the Bay Area Breast Cancer 3-Day from Fri., October 2 to Sun., October 4, during which they will trek 20 miles a day. They are holding four upcoming "dine and donate" fundraisers to raise $2300 each, needed to participate in the walk. Mountain Mike's Pizza is located in the University Square, on the corner of Snyder and Southwest.
