Workshops Offered at the Library
A Passion for Literacy — Inspiring Student Writing and Faculty Grading: The focus of this workshop is to create meaningful and practical writing assignments that both inspire students and facilitate grading. The workshop will also cover strategies for creating writing assignments appropriate for the
courses and disciplines of the workshop attendees. Participants will gain
ideas for new writing assignments for courses they teach, and resources to
develop writing assignments that will engage students as learners. Presenters are Erin Daniels (Library), Scott Miller (Writing
Center), and Melinda Milligan (Sociology). Questions may be directed to erin.daniels@sonoma.edu, millersc@sonoma.edu, or
melinda.milligan@sonoma.edu. This workshop is sponsored by the SSU Professional Development Subcommittee.
