INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK
International Education Week begins Mon., Nov. 16 and continues throughout the week with a variety of events, workshops and activities, including:
Misunderstanding happens -- either we have felt misunderstood or we have given another person the wrong impression. What went wrong? Situations like these often beg the questions, "What went wrong?" "How was I so misunderstood?" or "Why was the other person so stubborn?"
Compassionate/Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a way of communicating that strengthens
the ability to stay in touch with our humanity and get our needs met, even under
difficult circumstances. Instead of habitual responses, our words become conscious
responses based on a clear awareness of what we are observing, feeling, and wanting.
This workshop, lead by Jean Morrison, a long-time certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication, takes place Wed., Nov. 18 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. in Darwin 103. Admission is free. TO RSVP, visit the Facebook page. This workshop is sponsored by International Services and Associated Student Productions.
