Winter Warmth Sale at the Campus Bookstore

SSU The Campus Bookstore is having a Winter Warmth Sale. All hooded sweatshirts are 25% off, from now until Sat., Nov. 28 (no coupon necessary). The bookstore also has a wide selection of other clothes to help keep warm this winter!

Beware of Email Scams

Occasionally, SSU employees receive email communication requesting their Seawolf username and password. As a reminder, IT will not ask for a password via email. These scam requests may become more frequent—but they are EmailNOT legitimate.

A recent scam-email, reported by SSU faculty, includes the phrases: "Your mailbox has exceeded the storage limit" and "send below information to the
following e-mail" before prompting for email, username, password and country or territory. These emails are often signed by a fake "System Administrator".

Questions or reports of any suspicious emails should be directed to the IT Helpdesk at 4-4357 or email helpdesk@sonoma.edu.

Test Scanning System Successful, Important Reminders

The campus Test Scanning System was updated on June 1, and the reports of satisfaction are substantial. Important information and updated forms can be found at the IT website.

ScantronImportant changes to remember:

• Student ID numbers (positions A-I) must be bubbled on tests before submitting for scanning. This new security measure is mandatory to ensure proper test scanning and reporting.
• Students must use a standard #2 pencil so the scanner reads results correctly.
• The Class Test Scanning Request form has been updated for the new system. The old form no longer works. (The vendor no longer supports the old scanner.)
• Reports have slightly different names. The IT Scanning webpage shows changes and sample reports. The IT Helpdesk can assist in selecting the right reports.
• "Statistical Summary" data has moved to the new Item Analysis and Score Distribution Reports.

New Features:

• Better Reporting Data- All the reporting data available from the old system is still available. In many cases more detailed information and better summaries are available.
• Easier to Read Reports- All of the reports have a much cleaner, more legible format. Many reports include legends to assist in identifying data.
• Email and Print Reports Available- Instructors can now receive a PDF version of test results via email. Just check that option on the form and include your SSU email address. Print versions are available, too.
