Eric MalvestitiNew Chef

Eric Malvestiti has been named SSU's new executive chef. He most recently worked as executive chef at the Flamingo Hotel and Resort in Santa Rosa. Prior to that, Malvestiti worked at the Fountaingrove Inn in Santa Rosa and Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon. Malvestiti's experience has taken him all around the North Bay and as far away as Alaska. He worked under Lisa Hemenway for four years learning about Asian, Southwest and other cuisines. He won several awards at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair and was a finalist at the Cervena Venison Apprentice Competition for his eclectic cuisines. He also has donated his own time to visit local high schools, working with students in culinary programs. Malvestiti received his Culinary Arts Degree from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. Hobbies include mountain biking, running, and golfing.

Fridays at Four Begins Feb. 16

Fridays at Four is the perfect way to end the week and enjoy some amazing food and delightful conversation. The Fridays at Four spring schedule is: Feb. 16, March 16, April 6 and May 11 in the University Club from 4-6 p.m. The event and the food are free and a no-host bar is available. Friday's menu includes:

° Smoked Sliced Duck Breast on Potato Pancake topped with Mango Compote
° Soft Polenta Coins with Sun Dried Tomato Tapenade topped with Goat Cheese
° Lemongrass Chicken Skewers with South Pacific B.B.Q. Glaze
° Cold Jamaican Jerked Pork Tenderloin on Won-Ton finished with Grilled Pineapple Salsa
° Domestic and Imported Cheeses with Sliced Baguette, Bread Sticks and Crackers
° Fruit Skewers
° Assorted Sweets
