Midnight Breakfast 2007

The 7th annual Midnight Breakfast is on Thurs., May 3 from 10 p.m. – midnight. Campus staff, faculty and administrators will participate in an event designed to wish students good luck on their finals and give them an opportunity to see faculty in their "world.” This event is put on by Zinfandel Dining, the Office of Residential Life and President Ruben Arminana. Faculty and staff who are interested in having fun and helping serve students in the residence halls a late night breakfast are welcome to join the event. Helping would consist of getting to the Zinfandel dining hall at 9 p.m. to get an assignment and prep for the meal.

Cook
Prep cook
Stocking the line (where the food goes)
Dining room keepers
Cashier
Dish room
and a variety of other odd, yet fun, jobs

Team SSU for the Human Race

Human Race LogoCome out to Howarth and Spring Lake Parks on Saturday, May 12 to join dozens of other members of the SSU community — faculty, students, staff, alumni, family and friends — in support of local community programs. The race begins, rain or shine, with registration from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. The run starts at 8 a.m. and the walk starts immediately following the runners. Registration, start and finish lines are at Herbert Slater Middle School, 3500 Sonoma Avenue, in Santa Rosa. Last year, Team SSU was in the top 12 teams in Sonoma County, raising more $2,500 with 20 staff, alumni, faculty and students participating.

20th Anniversary Brings

New Ways to Honor SSU Alumni

Alumni Awards LogoThe SSU Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the 20th anniversary of the Distinguished Alumni Awards. It is on this occasion that the department has expanded its recognition program. The Alumni Association invites nominations in the following categories:

- Distinguished Alumni Award, presented to Sonoma State University alumni for their outstanding professional achievements, contributions to society and the University.

- Distinguished Alumni Teaching Award, presented to an alumni faculty member in recognition of his or her dedication to teaching at Sonoma State University.

- Outstanding Alumni Staff Award, to recognize exceptional service to Sonoma State University.

- Alumni Achievement Award, to recognize individuals who are not graduates of Sonoma State University but who have made significant contributions to the community. Nominations must be submitted to the Alumni Association by April 10. To submit a nomination, visit the Alumni Association Web site.

Nomination packets may include letters of reference, articles/features, publications, awards, and other supporting documents. Nomination forms may also be picked up at the Alumni Office in Stevenson 1027 on the SSU main campus.
