Christine Renaudin, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, presented a double interest session entitled "Reading Verlaine Creatively," Part 1 & 2, at the annual California Language Teachers Association conference in Santa Clara, March 29-April 1. The sessions were designed for instructors of French to explore creative ways of reading French poetry with an eye for performance.
Dr.
Rocky Rohwedder, Professor in the
Department of Environmental Studies, was selected by
the University of Virginia to serve as a faculty member
on their Semester-at-Sea voyage around the world during
the Spring 2007 semester. On the voyage, Rohwedder taught
three courses: Energy, Technology and Society; School
and Society; and Sustainable Communities. Highlights of
the voyage included giving an invited address on education
for sustainable development to 100 faculty and students
at the University of Kyoto and especially having Archbishop
Desmond Tutu as a guest lecturer in his School and Society
