Nichols Hall Restrooms and Lab Get Upgrade
An upgrade of the restrooms and nursing lab on the first floor of Nichols Hall began after Commencement. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 13. Building users should enter Nichols Hall for Summer 2007 through the north entrance. The east entrance to the building will be closed throughout the construction period. Access to offices on the south side of the first floor and the east stairwell will continue to be from a side exterior door. Temporary partitions will be built in the first floor corridor to allow safe passage to the elevator and west stairwell via the north entrance.
The renovation will bring the first floor restrooms up to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance using Minor Capital Outlay Funds reserved for ADA upgrades. The upgrade of the nursing lab is funded through 2006/07 Governor's Office one-time funding for nursing programs. Mailboxes currently in the corridor will be temporarily relocated to the telephone alcove area. Temporary fences and barriers are set up outside Nichols Hall for contractor use.
