Project Censored cordially invites the public to attend the release of their book "Censored 1999: Top Censored Stories of 1998" on March 24 in the Evert B. Person Theatre at Sonoma State University. Beginning at 7 p.m., the event also features keynote speaker Dennis Bernstein, lecturing on the "Untold Media Stories: From Iran-Contra to Impeachment." Berstein is a well-known award winning investigative journalist and is the host of the radio show Flashpoints. General admission is $6, $3 for students, at the door or in advance.
Published by Seven Stories Press, New York, the book is an analysis of the 25 most significant but underrated news stories in 1998. Books will be available for purchase at the event .
Dr. Peter Phillips, of SSU, is the Director of Project Censored, a research group including volunteering faculty, student researcher, and community experts, all dedicated to searching hundreds of publications and screening thousands of stories.
