'Not for Sale' Highlights Feminist Art Movement

Sonoma State University will be viewing selections from the video essay "Not for Sale" on Friday, March 17 at 7 p.m. in SSU's Warren Auditorium followed by a panel discussion. Created by feminist art critic and curator Laura Cottingham, the video offers rare footage of performance art, installations, activist protest, and activities of the feminist art movement.

The evening begins with the introduction of "Not for Sale" by Jennifer Shaw, SSU art professor, who has conducted extensive research on women artists. Shaw will moderate a panel discussion featuring local artists after the viewing.

The showing is sponsored by SSU's Friends of the Library. Admission is $3 for students and $5 for public. All proceeds benefit the SSU library. For more information, contact Lisa Marie Strawter at (707) 664-2861.
