SSU Offers Summer Program for Middle School Students

Sonoma State University has opened registration for Summer Central, a summer program for young people ages 11-14.

Summer Central teaches leadership and communication skills, global awareness, health, compassion, and personal development. The program includes hands-on leadership activities, quiet time for reflection, facilitated group discussion, and games designed to keep participants stimulated and engaged. Participants also learn group decision-making skills by helping to choose field trips and community service projects.

Summer Central runs for five two-week sessions between June 12-August 18. Program hours are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and extended supervision is available from 6:45 -10 a.m. and 4-6:15 p.m. Each session is limited to 24 participants. The cost is $250 per two-week session.
