On Thursday, September 21, Saturn of Santa Rosa holds a fund raising reception for the Donald and Maureen Green Music Center. Construction begins on the Center at Sonoma State University next year. Guests of the fund raising event at the Saturn showroom, 3001 Corby Avenue, will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, live music and a chance to socialize with the "movers and shakers" of the local music community.
The public is invited to join the Saturn of Santa Rosa team and representatives from both Sonoma State University and the Santa Rosa Symphony at this free event from 6-8 p.m.
"All the ingredients for a music center such as this are here in the North Bay. A community with intense pride and enormous sense of "place," beautiful and scenic surroundings, and a university to inspire and educate future leaders," says Ruben Armi-ana, president of Sonoma State University.
Musicians will play from 6-6:30 p.m., followed by a presentation on the plans for the building and its programs. Attendees will have the opportunity to examine the model of the Green Music Center. Designed after Ozawa Hall in Lennox, Massachusetts, the Green Music Center will be the most acoustically-oriented building of its kind in the area, bringing world-renowned talents to Sonoma County.
Questions about the Green Music Center may be directed to Rebecca Miller of Saturn of Santa Rosa, (707) 525-1800.
