Sonoma State University presents a timely new lecture series titled "Economics and the Environment: A Dialog Between Two Cultures." The lectures will focus on the challenge of balancing economic stability and environmental awareness.
The free public lectures will be held on Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. in room 2016, of the Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center on campus. The following is a schedule of speakers and topics.
April 19 - "The Biggest Bang for the Buck: The Unholy Marriage of Ecology and Economics" by Mark Plummer, economist and author of "Noah's Choice."
May 3 - "Ecological or Environmental Economics: The Importance of Methodological Pluralism to Sustainable Development" by Richard Norgaard, economics professor at UC Berkeley.
May 17 - "Advancing Environmental and Economic Goals Through the Tax System" by Mark Glickman, economist with Redefining Progress.
The fee for parking in the University lots is $2.50 a day.
