School of Business and Economics Seeks Input on Its Future, Dec. 3

Sonoma State University's School of Business and Economics invites the community to weigh in on its future at a Strategic Planning Summit on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 1:30-4 p.m. in the Niagara Room of the Student Recreation Center.

The event caps months of dialogue about SBE's future and will help finalize plans for the success of the School. During Thursday's session, Dean William Silver will ask for feedback about its recently developed five-year strategic plan, focusing on its vision and on the strategic actions necessary to attain it.

Dean Silver says the SSU School of Business and Economics will strive to emerge as the educational nucleus of a thriving collaborative North Bay economy.

He adds, "We must never be satisfied with merely surviving budget challenges and delivering a mediocre education. We must innovate to deliver a better experience. We expect this of other organizations. We teach our students how to do this. We must hold ourselves accountable to the same standards."

Those interested in attending should RSVP to Renee Thompson, thompren@sonoma.edu, or (707) 664-2220. A copy of the school's strategic plan or 2008-2009 Annual Report is available upon request.

Those unable to attend can offer feedback through comments and recommendations by contacting Dean Silver, william.silver@sonoma.edu, or (707) 664-2224.
