Celebrated Noir Author James Ellroy Speaks at SSU

If you thrilled to L.A. Confidential and My Dark Places, then come meet the incomparable James Ellroy at SSU this February 27. The noted crime fiction author will read from his original noir collection entitled Crime Wave: Reportage and Fiction from the Underside of L.A. This evening is not for the faint-hearted, as Ellroy’s prose is described as “Wounding as an ice pick.”

The SSU School of Arts and Humanities, Copperfield’s Books and Music and SSU’s Center for Performing Arts have joined to create an exciting author lecture series that kicks off with the evening presentation of James Ellroy. Proceeds benefit the Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center and the Center for the Musical Arts at SSU.

The celebrated author speaks at the University Commons at SSU on February 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 for students and seniors, $8 for alumni and staff, and $10 for general seating. Tickets are available at Copperfield’s Books and Music or the Center for Performing Arts Box Office at SSU.

A parking fee of $1.50 (six quarters) is required in all lots, Monday-Thursday, until 10 p.m., Friday until 5 p.m. Reserved parking by permit only. For more information, contact the CPA Box Office at (707) 664-2353.
