Natalie Graham, a senior at SSU majoring in Biology, recently took top honors at the 30th Annual West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference, held at Santa Clara University. Graham's project involved work on the genetic analysis of the Mystrium ants of Madagascar.
Graham, who is also the president of the Biology Club, will be graduating this semester, but was just accepted to the graduate program in Biology at SSU.
The 30th Annual West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference presented work this year on topics ranging from bacterial metabolism, to sea bird chick development, to disease resistance in plants, to enzyme activity associated with Leukemia. Student presenters at the conference represented a variety of schools from the western U.S. such as Wesleyan, University of Nebraska, University of Washington, Santa Clara, UC Berkeley, Loyola Marymount, Azusa Pacific, Creighton, CSU Long Beach, CSU Monterey, Arizona State and several others.
