ADMINISTRATION
Cyndie Morozumi
Director of Residential Life
Cyndie has worked in student services in California colleges and universities for 28 years, 20 year here at SSU. Her background includes several fields within student services, including career and academic advising, financial aid, first year experience/new students and finally, residential life. As a mother of two millennial children, Cyndie is fascinated with the millennial generation, our current student population, and attempts to utilize current research in the programs and services offered in the residential community. Cyndie has an MS in Counseling from San Francisco State University and a BS from UC Davis in Community Education/Development. Outside interests include traveling, (favorite places are warm weather countries like Mexico, Fiji and Australia), and being an engaged Mom to her wonderfully active daughters.
"I find SSU an exciting place because of the growing residential student population, the innovative academic programs and institutes and the beautiful geographical surroundings"
Mo Phillips
Associate Director of Student Development
This is Mo's 11th year at SSU. She started as the RLC for Zinfandel and she now coordinates what she considers to be the fun stuff: staff training, social programs, weekend programs, and the university Welcome Week Events. Mo started her residential life career as a student leader and resident assistant at the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse. Since then, she has worked in residential life programs in Arizona, Washington, and New Hampshire. When she's not working, Mo enjoys monitoring Pop Culture, watching movies and spending time with her two kids.
Marian VanHorn
Fiscal Coordinator
Marian graduated from SSU with a BA in Management in 1984. She has worked at the university in various offices since, but found her niche in the Residential Life Office sixteen years ago. When she's not purchasing something or working on the budget she is at home with her family, reading a book, watching a movie, walking, singing her dreams or gardening.

Hello! I have been working here at Sonoma State University in the Residential Life Office since 2007. I started off as a RLC for Cabernet Village and I am currently the Community Development Coordinator. I oversee and work directly with the Sauvignon CommUNITY Cooperative (Co-op) Program. In addition, I oversee the residential community Service Desks, located in Zinfandel and Tuscany Villages
I am originally from the East Coast but love living in Northern California . My love and passion for working in Residential Life started when I became a Resident Advisor in college. Since then I have had the opportunity to work with some really amazing students. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Hi everyone! My name is Jesse Andrews and I am the Community Conduct Coordinator for Residential Life. That means I oversee the student conduct process for the residential community. I am originally from this area and grew up just a few minutes south of Sonoma State. I never expected to return to the San Francisco Bay Area but am so happy I did and am excited to be a part of the SSU team. I am a product of the CSU system myself and earned my B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Human Development from San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!). From there I moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where I worked professionally and earned my M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Washington State University (Go Cougs!). I am now in my fourth year at Sonoma State, having spent my first three years as a Residential Life Coordinator.
I love to get outdoors and am an avid cyclist and hiker so living in northern California works pretty well for me. I am an Olympics junkie and have been to three different Olympic Games (Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, and London 2012). I also love to just relax at home with a book, unless it is Sunday and then football is most assuredly on the TV.
