Program Information
DESCRIPTION:
Summer Orientation (or Summer O) is designed specifically for you, the admitted first-time freshman, to prepare you for a successful transition to university life at SSU. There will be a variety of activities as well as opportunities to make new friends and connections to campus. Summer O provides individual attention, social interaction and information about University services and programs, expectations, graduation requirements, the General Education Program, and department requirements. You'll have an opportunity to meet with faculty and advisors, receive academic advising and complete the first step of your transition by registering for your fall semester classes.MANDATORY:
Summer Orientation is mandatory for all First-Time Freshmen*. You will be required to stay overnight in the residence halls and must stay for the entire program in order to register for your fall semester classes.
*EOP students will participate in Summer Bridge and should contact the EOP Office. International students will participate in a seperate program hosted by the International Services Office.
