ADVISING FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

ADVISING FOR NEWLY ADMITTED & CURRENT STUDENTS
  • First semester FRESHMEN currently in University 102 classes are advised by their EMT.

  • DECLARED MAJORS are advised by their major's department.

  • UNDECLARED MAJORS. Students who have not declared a major receive their academic advising from the ACE advisors in the Advising Center. Click on ACE for more information, then call for an appointment (664-2427) or come by Salazar Hall 1060 and visit us!

  • EOP students are advised by both their major department and by an ACE advisor here in the Career Center.

ACE MISSION STATEMENT

ACE services, Sonoma State University's Advising, Career and Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) empowers Sonoma State students to be architects of their own futures through educational, career, and life planning.

We provide:

  • Academic advising for undeclared and undecided students.
  • Guidance and resources to all students in the areas of career development and employment.
  • Access and support services for first-generation low-income EOP students.
  • Administration and interpretation of standardized admission and placement tests.

We are committed to excellence in advising, teaching, and mentoring to address the needs of the whole student. We work in collaboration with the larger university community to provide an environment in which students are respected and diversity is valued.
