2. total the number of units taken for a grade (A - F) (4th column below)

3. calculate the grade points earned for each course (5th column below)

4. total the grade points earned.

5. divide the total grade point earned by the total graded units earned

Terms to know

UA: Units attempted for a grade (A-F) UE: Units earned/completed for either a grade (A-F) or for CR/NC (Credit/No Credit) that count towards BA/BS degree
GP: Grade points are the numerical value earned for a course that is graded (A-F)
GPA: Grade point average- the numerical average of all grade points earned
