Jackson Family Wines: Associate Brand Manager

The main mission of the Associate Brand Manager (ABM) at Jackson Family Wines is to contribute to and execute the key initiatives outlined in the annual strategic brand plan. Additionally, the ABM may be asked to assist the Brand Manager with the execution of key projects that may arise outside of the brand plan. The ABM will also be the lead on all packaging and production issues including the LAF process and pre-bottling tastings. The ABM is the first point of contact for sales requests. The following are examples of responsibilities that the ABM can expect to have:
Execution of Trade and Consumer Programs (50%)
• Sales contact for in-market promotions, supply and demand issues, etc.
• Marketing budget management, including Hyperion inputs, etc.
• Program management with little or no direction
• POS generation, quality control and analysis of ROI
• POS fulfillment and inventory management
• Analysis of ROI for all programs and recommendations to continue, stop or adjust
• Auditing and updating of website content
• Ensure that legal approval is secured for all programs
• Update and maintain 360* marketing calendars
• Management and communication of incentive programs and sales contests
• Provide support to Digital Comms for the maintenance and content of websites and social media sites (mfwsales.com, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Blogs, etc.)
• Ensure that MFWSales.com is up to date and accurate.
• Writing of email blasts, WIS, POS, label copy, various materials
• Assist with the execution of consumer and trade events
• Oversee planning and execution of VIP trade visits, incentive and education trips
• Manage special projects including partner relationships
• Customer relationship management and communication
• Vendor management and negotiation
• Assist in product photo shoots
• Manage advertising insertion orders
Supply & Demand Management (30%)
• Logistics management and product availability (MIP to bottle)
• Manage the marketing aspects of the LAF process
• Work with design to ensure accurate label information if processes
• Write all PCF forms for new products and packaging changes
• Manage the packaging meetings
• Manage logistics for new tiers, new packages or brand launches
• Update and maintain vintage release calendar
Brand Plan Development Support & Analysis (20%)
• Process Pricing Change Forms and ensure state compliance
• Support of the QBR process for volume forecasting, inputting into Hyperion, etc.
• Trend analysis, prediction, and ability to recommend changes in courses of action
• Assist with plan content development, ideation, etc.
• Assist with the formatting of the plan, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the plan
Required Experience:
Skills Required
• Complete 360* project management experience with little or no direction required from upper management
• Strong analytical & reporting skills
• Budget management
• High levels of analysis and reporting
• Advanced presentation development and delivery
• Strong writing and editing
• Effective time management & prioritization
• Vendor management & negotiation
• Social networking skills (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
• Detailed understanding of wine production & appreciation
• Advanced understanding of the 3-tiered distribution system
• Basic understanding of international marketing dynamics
• Strong comprehension and experience with multiple market and channel dynamics
• Advanced program understanding (Excel, Powerpoint, word, etc.)
• Basic P&L understanding
• College degree (marketing or related field preferred) or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of previous wine, CPG marketing or sales experience
• Strong track record of successful program results
• Good wine knowledge and appreciation
