School of Education: Multimedia Communications Student Assistant

The Sonoma State School of Education Multimedia Communications Student Assistant works closely with the School of Education Dean's Assistant to create strategic multimedia content for outreach and communications in support of the School of Education and its programs.
Types of Media: video, digital photography, print graphics, webpages, blog articles
Communications Content: news about School of Education programs, events and projects; faculty and staff news, profiles of current students, alumni and news about stakeholders in the local education community.
Communications Platforms: school website, blog, social media networks, and print materials.
Qualifications: Desired qualities include strong writing skills, creativity, technical ability, organizational skills, attention to detail, willingness to work on a team, and familiarity with current issues in public education. Education MA student preferred.
Skills: The job requires skill and experience editing digital video using iMovie, graphic and web design experience with Adobe CS6 software including Dreamweaver (HTML, CSS), Photoshop and InDesign, and online platforms such as Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and GoogleMaps. Graduate Assistant must have creative problem solving skills, be reliable, resourceful, a great sense of design and a positive attitude.
Work Location and Hours: The work must be done on site in the School of Education between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00, Monday through Friday, or on special occasions when the School of Education hosts special events on campus (if you are available then). Exact schedule to be arranged. The appointment will be for the academic year, but the work will be intermittant/hourly based on workload, not expected be more than 8-10 hours/week.
