Changing Major to Business Administration
The Business major is impacted; students applying to the University as prospective business majors must meet enhanced admission requirements. In addition, SSU students wanting to declare as business administration must meet the following requirements:
Students must bring their Change of Major form to the School of Business and Economics office (STEV 2042) rather than Admission & Records, with documentation of the requirements described above.
1. Students wanting to declare the Business Administration major must attend a Pre-Business Workshop. Students should sign-up ahead of time and are required to bring a copy of their unofficial transcript and transfer credit report if applicable.
2. Any class that meets a Pre-Business requirement must have a grade of C or higher or must be repeated to earn a grade of C or higher before declaring Pre-Business as a major.
3. The student must meet the following requirements based on the number of units completed at the time the student declares Pre-Business as a major:
Change of Major forms must be turned in by the second Friday in October (Fall) or by the second Friday in March (Spring) to be processed in time for early registration. Check in with the main SBE office to find out the deadline for the current semester.
*Any student wishing to major in Business Administration initially declares Pre-Business as a major. The student files a Request for Change of Status (Blue Form) to indicate that all Pre-Business requirements are satisfied. Upon verification, the department changes the student's major from Pre-Business to Business Administration.
