Wine Business MBA
Accelerate your career and network with professionals in the local wine industry.
Sonoma State's part-time Wine Business MBA equips you with business tools and strategies to deliver results in the transforming wine industry. Located in the heart of California's wine country, we offer extraordinary experiences in learning through local internships, special studies, student run projects, professional connections to alumni in the industry, and more.
Newly re-designed, it teaches you not just how to read winery financial statements, but how to apply that information to make decisions and shape strategy. Not just the principles of marketing but how to develop a brand, deliver transformational customer experiences, and integrate marketing communication across multiple channels. Not just business strategies but innovation, entrepreneurship, and building a sustainable organization.
The new part-time Wine Business MBA is organized around a 4-3-2-1 model: four core courses; three theme areas; two electives; and one capstone course.
Three theme areas - International Business and Global Issues, Leadership and Ethics, and Contemporary Business Issues - allow you to choose your emphasis within the wine industry.
Inside and outside of the classroom, students gain access to the deep knowledge of our regional business partners, to career support services, and to the activities of our Wine Business Institute, as well as the North Bay iHub to cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship.
Evening classes are designed to easily fit into your busy schedule; small class sizes allow for you to make personal connections with your classmates; and professional instructors are driven to help you reach your future business goals.
The application window for admissions is October 1, 2012 - March 30, 2013.
As of Fall 2012: If you are a current student who started the part-time MBA program PRIOR to Fall 2012 - read your program requirements here.
