Job Description:

 

Benziger Family Winery, located in Glen Ellen at the foot of Sonoma Mountain, is a leader in sustainable, organic and Demeter certified Biodynamic¨ winegrowing and is looking to fill an open position. The Consumer Sales Associate will deliver the highest level of customer service to all consumers: wine club and mailing list members. The position will support Benziger and Imagery customers by responding to phone orders and emails, wine club related questions, and resolve shipment-related issues in a positive, professional, customer-focused manner. The position works very closely with the Benziger & Imagery tasting rooms and includes at least one day per week within the tasting room. The full time position includes one weekend day per week. This position reports to the Consumer Sales Manager.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

á      Provide best of class customer service and sales to everyone reaching out to the Direct Marketing department. 

á      Work cross-functionally.  Serve as liaison between the Direct Marketing Department and the Tasting Room by ensuring high quality customer service for our shared customers.

á      Process customer orders that come via telephone, e-mail, fax, and mail.

á      Assist with planning and hosting wine club and tasting room events.

á      Responsible for organizing and overseeing all pick-up orders including wine club pickups.

á      Call club members whose shipments have been returned or whose credit cards have declined.

á      Make outgoing telephone solicitations to our customers.

á      Maintain log of customer contacts.

á      Update and maintain customer database.

á      Develop a strong understanding of inventory and allocations.

á      Contribute creative thinking to a dynamic team.

 

 

Skills/Experience

 

á      College degree or equivalent related work experience. 

á      One year entry level winery experience. 

á      Interest and knowledge of wines.

á      Excellent communication skills over the phone, in-person and via email. 

á      Experience selling wine in direct-to-consumer channels.

á      No trouble or fear initiating telephone sales calls.

á      Possess mature and positive attitude as well as being honest, energetic and outgoing.

á      Excellent problem solving skills and excellent written and oral skills.

á      Detail oriented with excellent follow-up skills.  Genuine interest in serving the customer.

á      Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook. AMS experience a plus.

á      This is a full-time position, which involves one weekend day per week. This position requires lifting and moving of wine. Candidate must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
