UNPAID WORK EXPERIENCE (Continued)

Inmate Programs & Services Intern (Sheriff’s) Support inmate programs with database management, research, preparation of course materials, create forms & flyers to promote classes, complete inmate request forms, write articles for a program newsletter, and handle resource library books, 3 month commitment, 6-8 hrs/wk. Clear background, Unpaid work experience.

Library Intern – Child Welfare (Family, Youth, & Children Srvs.) Receive, log, and process new materials and maintain shelving of books, CD’s, & DVD’s. Learn about resources and materials related to child abuse by maintaining a Family, Youth, & Children’s Library,4-6 hrs/wk, unpaid work experience.

Personnel Intern (Sheriff’s Department). Gain valuable experience with human resources related duties including worker’s comp claims, safety training coordination, background investigations, and more. Enrolled in a related major, clean background and DMV records, able to commit to two semesters. 10+ hrs/wk. Unpaid work experience.

Safe Kids Action Team Interns (Health Services) Projects include; Child Passenger Safety Action Team, Bike and Pedestrian Action Team, and the Home Safety Action Team. Coordinate car seat check-up events, bike rodeos, maintain the helmet bank, or technical assistance for the Walk and Roll to School Day Program. Unpaid work experience.

Sierra Youth Center Interns (Juvenile Probation) Tutor residents in Math or English one evening per week between 6-7pm. Must be at least 21 yrs. old. Unpaid work experience.

Social Worker Interns (Human Services Dept). Learn about various resources and gain work experience with interviewing clients to assess and refer them to available resources for assistance. 4 hrs/wk, Unpaid for work experience.
