Reaching to be the global leader in wine business education
Located in the heart of California wine country and created through a partnership between the university and the wine industry, this is the first and only program in the United States to focus exclusively on the business aspects of the wine industry.
The Wine Business Institute operates within the University's School of Business & Economics; a fully accredited AACSB institution. Sonoma State's program offers a specialized curriculum targeted at the business challenges of the wine industry. Courses are offered in Wine Marketing, Wine Finance and Accounting, Human Resources Management, Wine Business Strategies and Wine Production, Operations & Distribution.

Ray Johnson, director of Sonoma State's Wine Business Institute announced the winners of four wine business scholarships at the School of Business and Economics 25th Birthday Party at Lagunitas Brewing Company.
Jacob Avery, Donn P. Reisen Scholarship recipient, is working to launch his own wine label, Wautasha Wines, an organic wine that donates a dollar from every bottle sold to an environmental charity. Rachel Kau-Taylor, Susan Cagann Scholarship recipient, just finished her first semester at SSU and plans to use her love for wine to become a wine buyer for a large chain. Taylor Cramer, Women for Wine Sense Scholarship recipient, is pursuing a degree in wine business to gain more knowledge of the industry so she can eventually take over her family's business. |
