Located in the heart of California wine country and created through a partnership between the university and the wine industry, this is the first and only program in the United States to focus exclusively on the business aspects of the wine industry.

The Wine Business Institute operates within the University's School of Business and Economics; a fully accredited AACSB institution. Sonoma State offers a specialized curriculum targeted at the business challenges of the wine industry. Seminars are offered in Wine Marketing, Wine Finance and Accounting, Human Resources Management, Wine Business Strategies and Wine Production, Operations & Distribution.

Wine-Intensive Executive MBA offered Spring 2014! Now recruiting for the second cohort. The School launched the first cohort for our wine-intensive Executive MBA program this past April. Access details about the program. WINE BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS   Ray Johnson, director of Sonoma State's Wine Business Institute announced the five recipients of Wine Business scholarships at our First Annual Alumni & Community Event at Santa Rosa Vintners' Square. Access a full description about each of our scholarship winners.   Palmer Emmitt, Donn P. Reisen Scholarship recipient, is a Wine MBA student who is currently working towards launching his own wine label, "Judge Palmer," named after his grandfather.     Brandye Alexander, Donn P. Reisen Scholarship recipient, is the Brand Manager for Seghesio Family Vineyards as well as a member of the first Wine-Intensive Executive MBA cohort at SSU.   Rachel Kau-Taylor, Pigs & Pinot Scholarship recipient, has worked in wine tasting rooms and wine retail for many years and is excited to start the Wine MBA program this summer.   Lacey Madrigal, Pigs & Pinot Scholarship recipient, is a native of Napa Valley and pusuing an undergraduate  degree in Wine Business Strategies. Jenna Riggan, Women for WineSense Scholarship recipient, will graduate from SSU with a double major in French and Wine Business and hopes to pursue a career in international wine business.
