Rachel Kau-Taylor, Donn P. Reisen Scholarship
Rachel is headed towards her final year in the Wine MBA program. She recently completed and passed the Certified Sommelier exam and now helps teach wine education classes for new employees at her job. Rachel is committed to wine education both personally and professionally and is particularly interested in introducing new and overwhelmed people to the world of wine and turning them into lifelong wine lovers.
Matthew Dougherty, Charlie Palmer's Pig and Pinot Scholarship
Matthew is a fifth year student who is pursuing a double major in Business Administration with an emphasis in financial management and wine business strategies, and Communication Studies. Matthew's passion is held within Sonoma County, his goal is to immerse himself in education and learn as much as he can about the wine industry by the time he graduates. His ultimate goal is to give back to this community and help smaller wineries receive the recognition they deserve by joining their management team.
Kirstina Dyer, Charlie Palmer's Pigs and Pinot Scholarship and
Sonoma Valley Cuisine Society Scholarship
Kirstina is entering her senior year as an undergraduate wine business student. She has been a part of the mentor program working with Kendall Jackson, has interned at eWinery solutions, and is now interning at Hamel Family Wines. Kirstina currently oversees 12 different wineries throughout the Sonoma and Napa area. She will use the scholarship money to take the Global Wine Industry class trip to France in spring 2014.
Lauryn Mitrovich, the Women for WineSense Scholarship
Lauryn is currently studying Marketing and Wine business while devoting much of her time to philanthropic experiences. Over the past 10 years she has dedicated hundreds of hours of community service to a wide variety of charities that focus on a range of needs, but mainly focusing on women and children. She is excited to join the Women for WineSense in their charitable endeavors.
